The 29 meter high Hünersedel Tower is located on the Hünersedel in Freiamt, 744 meters above sea level.
The tower is constructed of local Douglas fir wood and metal parts that support the staircase and observation deck. It offers an incredible panoramic view over the Rhine plain, the Vosges, the Jura and the Black Forest.
The tower can be entered at any time, except in bad weather.
The tower was opened to the public in October 2004 and was financed by public funds to promote tourism, donations, the association's own funds and a personal contribution. The construction of the tower cost around 200.000 euros.
The observation tower has a total height of 28,7 meters, with three platforms of different heights and 126 stairs leading to the top. The tower can only be reached on foot.
